Platinum Scraps was originally launched February of 2010 as a vision of several friends who met on the Cricut Message board who wanted to venture out into creating, sharing, and showcasing the many talents each of us possess. Platinum Scraps showcases the diversity in scrapbooking and features designers from all walks of life. To keep the tradition going, each week our design team is challenged to create a unique layout or card based on a sketch that exemplifies their skills and talents. We hope that we inspire your creations and we appreciate your continued love and support as we grow together.

It is the last week of January and we are ending the month with our final Bo Bunny Gypsy paper project. It's a Free For All. December Challenge #3 - FFA
Hello out there in Craft Land! What a wonderful time of the year to show off the many crafting talents here at Platinum Scraps. This week, designers were challenged to design at their will! No sketches this week! We were free to design and have fun. The only stipulation was...our creations had to be CHRISTMAS themed. Check out these amazing projects! December Layout Challenge Week 1 "Three B's"
Happy December! We at Platinum Scraps would like to say a warm hello to Myra Mierria, our guest designer for December! HI Myra!!!
Myra lives in Atlanta, Georgia with her family and is a working mom and business owner. She’s been scrapbooking and paper crafting since 2004 and enjoys learning new techniques and sharing her creations with her family and friends. For two years, she taught and designed for a local scrapbook store until it closed in August of this year. She also designs for her favorite challenge blog, Glue, Scissors, Paper, which is on an indefinite hiatus. She uses some of her precious vacation time to travel to paper arts events around the country. A long time fan of Platinum Scraps and its awe inspiring creations, Myra is honored to be this month’s guest designer!
The first challenge for this month was a recipe. Each designer had free reign to create any type of project but whatever the project, it had to follow the recipe.

Time Out Thursday
Today, we are going Back to the Basics. George & Basic Shapes that is. When I first purchased my Baby Bug in 2006, I constantly used the George & Basic Shapes cartridge. Why? I had to. It was only 1 of 3 cartridges I owned (that month, lol!). That seems like so many ages ago. Even 50+ cartridges later, I almost always use this cart to make my photo mats. Today, I'm dusting it off to show you how I created a housewarming invitation.

Cuts From the Cricut
PKaySunshine issued the challenge for this weeks challenge. Each designer had the liberty to select any cart to use, but had to feature a "Star" cut on their project.
