Platinum Scraps was originally launched February of 2010 as a vision of several friends who met on the Cricut Message board who wanted to venture out into creating, sharing, and showcasing the many talents each of us possess. Platinum Scraps showcases the diversity in scrapbooking and features designers from all walks of life. To keep the tradition going, each week our design team is challenged to create a unique layout or card based on a sketch that exemplifies their skills and talents. We hope that we inspire your creations and we appreciate your continued love and support as we grow together.

June Week Three Layout Challenge
Our layout this week featured a two page sketch from pagemaps.com. As always, just click on the designer's name under their post and visit their personal blog for more projects.
Last week, we had blog candy and the winner was supposed to be announced on Friday, June 17th. Please forgive me for being tardy and not posting the winner by last Friday. A winner was selected using random.org and has until, Friday, June 24th to email us at your mailing address.

Week 2 Card Sketch Challenge
This week our sketch comes from mojomonday.blogspot.com. Our designers did a great job on this card sketch.
We are also offering blog candy this week. One lucky winner will receive some paper products, a set of Spellbinders dies that were donated by one of our previous designers, Truth, and a set of Stampin Up Markers. You will have until Wednesday, June 15th at 5:00 pm Central Standard time to enter.

June Layout Challenge Week 1
We are back. Last week we did not have a post due to administrative error. We apologize for that. We hope that this week's work will make up for that.

We would like to introduce two new additions to our design team.
"Princess" - resides in Memphis, TN where she works as a trainer for Porter-Leath. She's a Scrapbook Addict and refuses help! It all started at a Creative Memories class in 1996, and in 2000 she became a Creative Memories consultant for one year. Because she gave away more than she sold, she got out of the business. She then decided to teach classes and have scrapbook parties of all ages. Oh what fun! She also formed a scrapbook club called Queen Scrappers. Each of them had their our own favorite niche and her's was the Queen of mini albums. It’s true…a scrapbook is a present you open again and again and again! She loves sharing her gift. In 2008 she wrote a scrapbook prayer after attending a scrapbook convention where she went over her budget!! She has met so many wonderful friends through this stress-free hobby and appreciate the opportunity to be a part of Platinum Scraps Design Team. What an honor!

"Keandra" - Hey, I'm Keandra Perkins-Willis...wife, stay at home mother and artist located in New Orleans, LA...home of the SUPERBOWL SAINTS! I started crafting when I was five and drew on my bedroom wall with a purple crayon. My parents kind of stifled my artistry for a few years (at least until I learned to draw on paper ONLY!) When I was 12, I was given my first sticky backed photo album and I've been hooked ever since! I love looking back at my old pages. I love to see how far I've advanced; I love to see the different styles I've incorporated over the years. My grandfather died of Alzheimer's and I think all the time that I may be afflicted with that same disease one day. So, my memory keeping has a twofold purpose: I want to preserve our life experiences for future generations and also for me in case there is a time when I DON'T remember.
