Platinum Scraps was originally launched February of 2010 as a vision of several friends who met on the Cricut Message board who wanted to venture out into creating, sharing, and showcasing the many talents each of us possess. Platinum Scraps showcases the diversity in scrapbooking and features designers from all walks of life. To keep the tradition going, each week our design team is challenged to create a unique layout or card based on a sketch that exemplifies their skills and talents. We hope that we inspire your creations and we appreciate your continued love and support as we grow together.

Glue Arts Glue Glider Pro

We recently received the Glue Glider Pro from our latest sponsor; Glue Arts so I decided to give you all a review of this adhesive gun.

The glue glider pro is very light…. 5 ounces and it measures 6 3/4 x 5 5/8 x 1 1/8. At first, I thought I would not use it very much. I have an ATG, zig pens, Scotch adhesive, mod podge and many other brands of adhesive. What could the GGP do that those other adhesives don’t do? The answer is a lot.

First I love that you can really control how much adhesive you put down. Without really trying I was able to put a small line, about ½ centimeter, of adhesive down on a small strip of paper. You can’t do this with the ATG. There is no trigger....just put the gun down and slide it back.  The perma tac adhesive is very strong and easily holds even the heaviest of cardstock. I was really impressed with its strong hold.  You can also manually control how much you put down with the wheel on the back. This is excellent if you are working with small pieces.

I also like that the refills are available at Hobby Lobby. If I run out I don’t have to wait for a mail order. I can just buy them – with a coupon – at my local HL. They are also VERY easy to change. Pull the old one out….put the new one in. That’s it. No need to feed the tape into the gun.

The ease of changing out the refills is a plus also because you can change at any time. You don’t have to wait for the cartridge to be empty to change it. If you want to use the repositionable just pull out the permanent and slide in the repositionable.
Finally, I love the size. Being smaller than the ATG but bigger than the tombow I felt like I had good control over the GGP. While making cards it was really easy to put adhesive on very small parts without having the paper pull or rip. This was an issue I had many time with my ATG but it is not a problem with the GGP.

Overall I really love the Glue Glider Pro. I only wish I had given it a chance long ago. It is a tool that I will use every time I scrap.
