Platinum Scraps was originally launched February of 2010 as a vision of several friends who met on the Cricut Message board who wanted to venture out into creating, sharing, and showcasing the many talents each of us possess. Platinum Scraps showcases the diversity in scrapbooking and features designers from all walks of life. To keep the tradition going, each week our design team is challenged to create a unique layout or card based on a sketch that exemplifies their skills and talents. We hope that we inspire your creations and we appreciate your continued love and support as we grow together.

Time Out Thursday, April 1, 2010

Today's Time Out Thursday is brought to you by tsrel. I thought throughout the week hmmm what is a good project I could do. Well I have decided that instead of showcasing a new tutorial or project, I would ask you, our wonderful followers for some help.

I have only been scrapbooking for a little over two years now and I must say the ride has been fantastic. I scrap what many of us call traditional scrapbooking. I see so many ads for digital pages now and I am wondering what are the pros and cons of digital versus traditional. I believe my taste lean more towards traditional because of the 3-d effect.

For this weeks project, I am asking those of you who digital scrapbook to tell me why and what are the pros of digital versus traditional? If you have only done traditional scrapbooking what makes you believe it is best? Please leave your response in the comments section.

  1. When I first started scrapping, probably 15 years ago, my pages were simply some clipart I found on the internet, a piece or two of cardstock or patterned paper and a picture or two. When I discovered "real" scrapping supplies, my whole world changed! For me, digital scrapping is sort of reversing the process. I love shopping for supplies, making my own embellishments exactly as I want them, feeling the paper, cutting and handling each picture. So much of myself goes into each LO that I don't think I would get from digital scrapping. Just my thoughts. Gail

  2. I spend so much time at the computer that paper scrapbooking is a way to get away from the computer. As lyingaboutmyage stated, even though I am not that creative [yet] I like the idea of creating all of the things that I put on my pages. Besides, I'm having enough trouble organizing all of the thousands of documents, pictures and music files on my computer. I don't want to have to add digital scrapbooking files to the mix.

  3. I don't think I will ever be a digital scrapper. I love the feel of the paper, flowers and all of the embellishments. For me scrapbooking is not only about preserving my pictures but also about crafting.
